Innovation Building Group Ltd. was established in 2004 by a group of experienced dedicated professionals who had worked together building custom homes in the Whistler Area for a number of years. The company was formed as a project management company with expertise in managing the construction of all types of mountain buildings: from residential renovations and custom homes to multi family and commercial projects.
Our success as a company is a direct result of our relationships with our employees, partners, trades people and clients. Our staff of seasoned professionals sets high standards of integrity, teamwork, innovation and quality. Our management approach specifically focuses on creating a positive friendly work environment in which our team approach to the construction process allows us to achieve superior results.
As a result of our high standards and experienced management team, Innovation Building Group has achieved several awards and has been recognized by multiple building industry publications for its superior building products and practices. The Canadian Home Builders Association has recognized Innovation Building Group on several occasions. With three of their Gold Georgie awards so far and another three finalist finishes, Innovation Building Group has been proven one of the best builders in British Columbia time and again.
Innovation Building Group has been leading the charge towards more environmentally friendly building practices. Innovation’s philosophy of pushing the boundaries of sustainable building first caught the public’s attention with a project known as “The Whistler EnviroHome”. It was designed and built specifically to showcase new sustainable building practices and products. This project included significant media coverage along with an interactive media CD which was distributed to industry participants to further demonstrate how the green technology could be adapted and applied to modern building. The Whistler Envirhome stands as a shining example of Innovation’s commitment to exceeding the environmental standards and expectations of the industry and the public.
The Innovation team took the lessons learned in the Whistler EnviroHome, and decided to apply them to Mountains Edge, a multi unit residential complex in the neighboring town of Pemberton. The result was the first R2000 condominium community in British Columbia. The Innovation team’s ability to scale up the sustainable building practices which made the Whistler Envirohome such a success proved useful once again with the next project. “Palliser Lodge” at Kickinghorse, was another condominium style building; however, this time it was also a commercial hotel. Once again the Innovation team’s knowledge and experience of Mountain Building combined with our dedication to sustainable building practices produced superior results. “Palliser Lodge” was one of the most energy efficient buildings built in B.C. that year, far exceeding the requirements of the R2000 program.
The Innovation Team has a long history of client satisfaction. Our friendly work environment combined with our high standards of quality and integrity has repeatedly delivered superior projects to our clients and partners. The level of client satisfaction Innovation achieves through its management’s forward thinking, integrity, and commitment to quality routinely brings us repeat business. A recent example of this is a home renovation Innovation completed on a home our management team built 20 years ago. Both the client and the building industry recognized the superior quality of the work done and the renovation received the B.C. building industry’s highest award for a project in its class. The owner of this gold Georgie project had this to say:
